Suspense
Suspense (2018)
This was my first live performance after giving birth to twins, so it began with pumping milk. In this work, I revisit my ‘hovering’ practice, this time in the middle of our living room, while the audience is watching from a backyard window. In the dark bedroom next to it, my friend Camila was watching the girls sleep. The audience could watch either the performance or any of the neighbors’ windows. This work was part of the Rear Window performance series at Glasshouse, which invited the audience to watch performances in the domestic sphere through a window. The window serves as a frame of the performance, juxtaposed with other neighboring frames.
