Nests

To Nest

A recurring theme throughout my work, nests allow me to convey the domestic as a state of vulnerability, ephemerality, and perseverance. Nests encapsulate the domestic as a ritual action rather than a place; nest as a process towards warmth, captured as temperature. Below are a few images that demonstrate a genealogy of a nest, from a burnt forest in 2001, through performances and interventions in Krakow and Berlin, to a wearable nest I made in week 20 of my pregnancy at the Grand Canyon.
